Offsetting is a way of compensating for carbon emissions by funding the equivalent CO2 saving elsewhere. It is simple, cost-effective, and can be implemented without changes to your vehicles or fuel supply, making it a pragmatic solution for addressing emissions that cannot be otherwise avoided.
Silvey Fleet makes it easy to reduce or mitigate emissions through carbon offsetting. Simply choose the amount of emissions you want to offset and we will do the rest.

Carbon offsetting compensates for emissions by funding equivalent CO2 savings elsewhere. These projects may include reforestation, renewable energy, or other energy efficiency initiatives. Carbon offsetting is simple, cost-effective, and doesn’t require changes to your vehicles or fuel supply, making it a practical solution for unavoidable emissions.
However, offsetting alone won’t solve climate change. We should aim to reduce emissions at their source, such as by switching from diesel to Renewable Diesel (HVO), which can cut emissions by up to 90%, and by transitioning to electric vehicles.
Silvey Fleet carbon offsetting can compensate for all emissions that contribute to global warming. While carbon offsetting tends to focus on CO2 emissions, other greenhouse gases, such as methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), are also taken into consideration.
These emissions are converted into CO2 equivalents and included in the overall emissions calculations.
Verification by independent organisations helps ensure that claimed emissions reductions have been made. In this regard, Silvey Fleet works with Verra’s Verified Carbon (VCS) Programme – the world’s most widely-used and highly-regarded greenhouse gas crediting programme.
Public Registries also track and record the issuance and retirement of carbon credits, ensuring transparency and preventing double-counting. Enforcement systems assure that contracts clearly identify ownership of carbon credits and define who bears the risk in case of project failure.
The easiest way to calculate your carbon footprint for offsetting is to use an online calculator, such as this one.
However, to break things down, you’ll first need to identify your emission sources. Then you’ll need to collect data relating to energy consumption for each emission source. Finally, you can convert this data into relative greenhouse gas emissions data, using what are known as ‘emission factors’.
The sum of your emissions is your carbon footprint.
Carbon offsetting is a quick and easy way to mitigate emissions and allows customers to choose the AMOUNT of emissions they want to offset.
